A seven-year-old boy was badly injured following a traffic accident in Paola (Raħal Ġdid).
Police sources explained that the accident happened in Corradino Street at 12.30am on Monday morning.
One of the cars was driven by a 24-year-old Fgura resident while the other car with the boy as passenger was driven by a 35-year-old woman from Senglea (Isla). The collision between the two cars also caused the woman to crash into a police car which was doing road checks on the road.
Civil Protection services and an ambulance were called on site. The two drivers and the child were taken to Mater Dei Hospital where the boy was certified as badly injured and the woman suffering from minor injuries.
The man walked away from the incident unscathed.
