Tottenham lose their third consecutive game

Mauricio Pochettino’s side were beaten 2-1 by Inter Milan at the San Siro after failing to hold onto a 1-0 lead. The Italian team returned to the Champions League after a six-year absence and managed to overcome Tottenham Hotspurs thanks to late goals from Mauro Icardi and Matias Vecino.

Christen Eriksen opened the scoring for Tottenham Hotspurs after 54 minutes with a deflected shot that went past Slovenian goalkeeper Samir Handanovic. However Icardi scored the equalizer for Inter with a stunning volley that ended in the bottom corner. Midfielder Vecino secured all three points for the Milan-based side with a header in stoppage time.
