Three patients aged between 74 and 81 have succumbed to coronavirus, the health authorities reported on Saturday. Two victims died two days ago and were only reported on Saturday.
The details of the patients were released on Saturday evening, after they were added to the daily tally in the infographic published by the health authorities.
An 81-year-old woman who tested positive for coronavirus on 5 December, died on Thursday at Mater Dei Hospital.
An 80-year-old man who tested positive for coronavirus on 10 December, died on Thursday at Mater Dei Hospital.
A 74-year-old man who tested positive for coronavirus on 10 December, died earlier on Saturday at Mater Dei Hospital.
While offering its condolences to the families of the victims, the health ministry urged everyone to remain vigilant.
On Saturday, 129 new cases were detected overnight. Only three individuals have made a recovery.
Earlier during the day, the first 10,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine arrived in Malta.
