The 15, 16 and 19-year-olds, have appeared in front of the court on Saturday accused of forcefully taking over the vessel El Hiblu 1. The prosecution said that the three intimidated and violently threatened their way to take control of the vessel.

Magistrate Donatella Frendo Dimech refused their request for bail on the grounds that further witnesses need to be heard on the case and also because the three have no body who is able to pay the bail for them.

The 15 and 16-year- old, have been entrusted to State care. The Court also ordered for the name of the minors not to be published.
