Third day without new Covid-19 cases

No new Covid-19 cases were reported for the third straight day, while six patients made a full recovery.

The latest bulletin by health authorities shows that there are 32 active cases of Covid-19 in Malta at present. These include 11 patients who are still receiving hospital care, of which 2 are at Mater Dei Hospital, 1 at Karin Grech Hospital, 3 at Paul Boffa Hospital and the remaining 5 at the private St Thomas Hospital.

A total of 923 swab tests were carried out in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of tests carried out to 90,544.

The number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malta thus remains 665. The pandemic has claimed nine lives in Malta, while 624 patients have made a full recovery.

The news was welcomed by Health Minister Chris Fearne who said that testing, tracing and isolating remained key to the country’s success in tackling the pandemic.
