Partit Nazzjonalista leader Adrian Delia said that the Government should not go ahead with developing the permanent link between Malta and Gozo unless all the related studies are completed and published followed by a public consultation.
Delia was presiding over an event during which Gozitan local council candidates were presented. Delia lambasted Muscat saying that the Government had forgotten that it was the PN that had initially mentioned the possibility of a permanent link between the two islands. The Nationalist leader said that Gozo needs serious investment to make the island more accessible, saying that there was no investment in either the fourth ferry or the fast ferry service.
Delia reminded that it was during a PN-led government that the local councils were established while referring to recent comments made by Muscat in which he admitted that the local council elections were not his favourite election. The PN leader reiterated that the party was and will remain the party for local councils.
The Nationalist leader said that three Administrative Committees, Marsalforn, Xlendi and Santa Luċija will not have their elections in May.
