Little girls often dream of being princesses. It’s a girl thing. Boys don’t dream of being princes. Girls are dreamy in that. For one girl, being a princess was a reality. Princess Nathalie Poutianie was top-drawer Russian nobility, whose family was in the thick of the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 when Natalya was still a little girl, a little ballerina. Escaped from Russia with other emigrés, the Poutiatine family ended up in Malta. It was Natalya’s fate to start the love of dance in Malta.
