Tal-Barrani Road closed for months as of Monday

As of next Monday (11th November), and for the next few months, the northbound carriageway of Tal-Barrani Road will be closed.

On Facebook, Infrastructure Malta stated that motorists will be diverted to an alternative route through Santa Lucija, towards Ħal Luqa Road and Garibaldi Road. Drivers are asked to follow diversion signs in Dawret it-Torri Street and Il-Prinjoli Street.

A shuttle bus service for pedestrians travelling between Santa Lucija, Tarxien and Paola will be available Monday to Saturday, between 8am to 11am, and 4pm till 7pm.

Infrastructure Malta added that whilst these diversions are in place, they will continue building the underground walk-through culverts extending from Marsa to Santa Lucija.

It is believed that the excavating and building of two road tunnels connecting Santa Lucija Avenue with Tal-Barrani Road will be starting soon.
