The Malta Chamber of Commerce launching the 2021 Budget Proposals Document
The proposals are based on 10 main principles, and they are focused on regulating the industry, enforcement by the Authorities, achieving quality within the industry and promoting health and safety. Furthermore, Kamra tal-Periti believes that the adoption of these principles would lead to a more sustainable culture.
In view of this situation and following the setting up of an SME taskforce to work on proposals in this regard together with a wider consultation exercise carried out with members, the Malta Chamber of SMEs has presented a comprehensive document with 15 proposals.
The Malta Producers Association (MPA) has published a proposal document in which it laid down reforms, measures and recommendations in order to restore and restructure the local Film and TV industry. The document was presented to the Minister responsible for film, Minister Julia Farrugia Portelli.
The Chamber described the new measures as ‘revised measures’ as they reflect the Chamber’s proposals put forward during the consultation process.
During a press conference addressed by Opposition Leader Adrian Delia, as well as Mario de Marco, Claudio Grech and Kristy Debono, Partit Nazzjonalista put forward a set of proposals aimed at safeguarding jobs, warning that mass layoffs would lead to a financial and economic crisis, with wider ramifications on society.
The Kamra tal-Periti is inviting the government to review the proposals that the Kamra had presented in May 2019, to ensure that no time is wasted in proceeding with the necessary reforms in the construction sector in view of what Prime Minister Robert Abela announced on Wednesday.
