Jean Claude Micallef was sworn in as member of parliament this morning. The TV presenter was elected following a casual election held last month in order to replace Helena Dalli in Parliament. This following her appointment as European Commissioner for Equality.
Nationalist MP Edwin Vassallo expressed his anger at having been made to choose between attending a Parliamentary sitting and his father’s funeral. This since a Parliamentary sitting was called at the same time of the funeral, even though it was not to discuss any urgent matters, said Vassallo.
While addressing his followers in Bormla, Abela said that he will offer an olive branch to those who are not willing to cooperate. However, he insisted that decisions will be taken by the Government. He insisted that the changes that have happened so far are a breath of fresh air that is also being felt by the constituted bodies.
