The European Asylum Support Office (EASO) said that despite challenges posed by COVID-19 in 2020, it has dramatically up-scaled its operational presence and increased support to Cyprus, Greece, Italy and Malta
This support, in the form of loans granted on favourable terms, will assist these Member States in addressing sudden increases in public expenditure to preserve employment as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, including for the self-employed.
"Restrictive measures issued by national authorities must be enforced by the same national authorities. The cultural and historical trend of a society that lacks discipline needs to be reversed if we are to get out of this pandemic together," the doctors stated.
