Following the enthusiastic response for the first tour to Filfla, Heritage Malta is inviting the public to join Senior Curator John J Borg on Saturday 25th July, on an intriguing tour around Filfla during which he will reveal several interesting anecdotes about the history and wildlife of this island.
The donation of a number of items which are related to the ship M.V. Lord Strickland by Charles De Micoli and his son Beppe De Micoli to Heritage Malta will be enriching the narrative of local seafaring. Once restored, these artefacts will be exhibited at the Malta Maritime Museum in Birgu.
In light of the current circumstances, Heritage Malta and the Malta Tourism Authority have once again joined forces, this time to produce a set of unique productions, intended to promote Malta’s historical and cultural heritage in international tourism markets.
One can look at old pictures with simple nostalgia. Yet to the keen observer, aged images act as a portal to bygone moments which are rich with hidden details.
On Saturday 21st March at 7.30 pm Heritage Malta is inviting the public to experience a dinner under siege. A dinner inspired by the price list of the Bormla Market in 1799. This event, which forms part of the Taste History series, is taking place at St Angelo Hall in the Malta Maritime Museum, Birgu.
On Saturday, 7th March from 10/00 am to 12.00 pm, Heritage Malta is organising an exclusive event for its members during which they will have the opportunity to immerse themselves into the experience of the work being undertaken by the Agency’s Underwater Cultural Heritage Unit.
