BirdLife cancels meeting with Delia; accuses him of jumping to conclusions

BirdLife Malta cancelled a meeting it was meant to have with Nationalist Party leader Adrian Delia, after comments he made on social media about hunters.

Travel between the two islands will only be allowed in case of work, visiting of family members, returning to one's residence, visiting patients who are receiving treatment at a hospital, and attending medical appointments in Malta. Merchant shipping between the two islands will still be allowed.

“Gozo still free from coronavirus”

Measures are being taken in Gozo by authorities to avoid a possible spread of coronavirus. During a press conference, Gozo Minister, Clint Camilleri said that all persons tested in Gozo against coronavirus did not result positive. He then confirmed that Gozo is still free from COVID-19.

Record numbers head Gozo for Carnival

The Minsitry for Gozo said that this year’s carnival celebrations broke all attendance records with 47,914 people visiting Gozo during carnival days. In a press statement, the Ministry for Gozo said that the when comapred to 2019 there was an increase of 6.8% in the number of people visiting Gozo for carnival celebrations.
