The UPE directed its members who are LSEs to refuse to take over a classroom instead of a teacher, should a teacher be unavailable.
Amongst the directives issued, MUMN members have been instructed not to wash any patients.
The union said that the directives are to be observed by all its members working at Mater Dei Hospital, at the Gozo General Hospital, Mount Carmel, Karin Grech and St Luke’s hospitals, St. Vincent De Paul Residence and for all its members working within the primary healthcare system.
MAM announced this on Wednesday morning while stating that Malta is currently in the thick of a new epidemic caused by mass events which is leading to around 15 new cases per day amongst the local population, and has already been blacklisted by 4 EU countries.
In a statement issued on Thursday, MUMN said that it is unacceptable to allow mass events to take place accompanied by tourism from high-risk countries. What is even worst is that the Prime Minister did not stop mass gatherings when health care workers were put under quarantine, said the union.
In a statement, Steward Healthcare said that the warrant was provisionally accepted by the court, with a hearing scheduled for later this month.
The UĦM – Voice of the Workers has issued a set of directives for its members working within the emergency department at the Gozo General Hospital. The Union has issued the directives as it is stating that the system currently in place for ambulances at the Gozo General Hospital had to be addressed and changed back in 2013.
