Justice Minister Edward Zammit Lewis declined to commit to publishing the findings of an inquiry he appointed to look into the lawyer who switched from the Attorney General’s office to the defence team of Daphne Caruana Galizia murder suspect Yorgen Fenech.
The Minister for Justice, Equality and Governance, Edward Zammit Lewis said that following thorough verifications conducted with the Office of the Attorney General, the Ministry is informed that Advocate Charles Mercieca who was employed at the Office of the Attorney General and is now assisting Yorgen Fenech in court proceedings, never worked directly or indirectly on the proceedings related to the assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, nor on any proceedings connected to Yorgen Fenech.
