On Sunday morning, Archbishop Scicluna celebrated the Holy Mass at the Wied Ghammieq Chapel in Kalkara were the beginning of the Advent was celebrated.
Archbishop Scicluna said this during his homily on Sunday as he was celebrating mass on the 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time, at the chapel of Our Lady of Providence in Siġġiewi.
During the Ordination, held this morning at the Żejtun Parish Church, during which four young men, three seminarians and a Capuchin friar were ordained, the Archbishop in his homily said: “The diaconate is not simply a step towards the priesthood, but a way of life that resembles that of Christ, who washed the disciples’ feet.”
This year as part of the national awareness campaign a number of buildings and monuments were illuminated in red to mark the importance of blood donations.
In his comments to Newsbook.com.mt Archbishop Scicluna said that this was an act of love but has also appealed for the support of other European countries to assist Malta and show solidarity in view of this crisis.
Archbishop Scicluna said that his prayers are today dedicated to all adolescents preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Scicluna said that he prays that this day will come so that these adolescents would be able to receive the special outpouring of the Holy Spirit which confirms the decision of the parents who chose to baptise their children.
