An Irish man was handed down a suspended sentence on Thursday after he entered a restricted zone at the airport and was subsequently arrested.
David Matthew Griffen, 56, from Galway admitted in court to having entered a restricted zone at the airport.
The incident occurred at around 1.30am on Wednesday.
Prosecuting Police Inspector Lara Butters explained that the tourist who was evidently under the influence of alcohol exited the airport through a security door.
The police arrested the man after chasing him around the restricted apron area.
Presiding magistrate Simone Grech found him guilty. He was handed down a two-year jail term suspended for four years.
Defence lawyer Leontine Calleja appeared for the accused.
