The Opposition leader Bernard Grech said that the spirit of national unity was wiped out after just two days of normality.
Speaking during a radio interview on NET FM, Grech said that initially, he had no intention to make any political comments during this festive period.
However, it is now clear that the institutions are not working properly as they have been taken over by a small clique in power.
Grech made reference to a news report published in the Sunday Times, in which it is being alleged that the police are awaiting Robert Abela’s approval to unlock the phone of Inland Revenue Commissioner Marvin Gaerty who is under investigation.
The PN leader insisted that the police should be able to do their work without the interference of the politicians.
Grech insisted that the Prime Minister should provide the necessary clearance to allow the police to pursue their line of investigation.
