Special Olympics athlete hit-and-run victim

The 21 year-old victim of yesterday’s hit-and-run in Paola is an athlete in Malta’s Special Olympics.

Matthew, a Rabat resident, is a football player on the Special Olympics’ football team. He was run over by a 27-year-old Senglea resident.

Newsbook.com.mt obtained information about the accident that details that it happened in Triq il-Perit Dom Mintoff, near the Mosque. Matthew was taken to Mater Dei hospital in an ambulance, where he was certified to be suffering from grievous injuries.

Many well-wishers expressed their solidarity on social media, and wrote him supportive messages.
