Two men are being kept under arrest after being involved in an argument in Marsaskala, where a firearm and a knife are believed to have been used. The incident occurred at around 11.00am this morning.
In a statement, the Police explained that members of the Rapid Intervention Unit (RIU) were called to assist an argument at Nadur Road. Preliminary investigations showed that the argument started in Qaliet Road, between a 30-year-old man from Gżira and a 21-year-old young man from Marsaskala.
As a consequence, shots were allegedly fired. The other person is understood to had been in possession of a knife.
Magistrate Victor Axiaq issued an inquiry, and appointed several experts to assist in the case. Investigations are being led by the Criminal Investigations Department within the Police Force.
