Shopping sprees for 29c lands two Italians in court

A supermarket customer and a cashier, both Italian nationals, were arraigned in court for loading trolleys with goods and paying only 29c in a supermarket in Għaxaq.

They allegedly used this tactic repeatedly and stole more than €1,000 from the supermarket.

Security footage led the shop owners to identify the male customer who always chose to be served by the same cashier. She only charged him 29c, even when his shopping came to more than €300.
