Sewage Plant up and running; ahead of schedule

The Ta’ Barkat Sewage Plant is back up and running, the Water Services Corporation has said.

WSC announced that workers within the plant had managed to clear tonnes of illegally disposed of animal waste from the machinery, meaning that they will be able to restore services shortly.

They add that no damage has been done to the main screening equipment and they will be able to continue clean water production by tomorrow.

WSC initially reported the disruption on Wednesday, with services anticipated to be shut down for five days.
