Several localities left in the dark; Interconnector “damaged” – Enemalta

Many readers have reported a power cut in their locality on Saturday evening.

According to Enemalta sources, the interconnector tripped but there were no further details.

The known affected localities are parts of Ħaż-Żebbuġ, Bikirkara, Ħamrun, Sliema, Marsaskala, Swatar, Ħal Balzan, Siġġiewi, Naxxar, Għargħur, Attard, Rabat and Pembroke, according to what our readers have reported.

Writing on Facebook, Enemalta said that the interconnector has been damaged leading to the outage. It explained that there are currently works underway to restore power in the shortest time possible. It will be posting updates on the situation on its Facebook page.
