Three scientists have created a map which shows the countries and areas affected by coronavirus. The three scientists are from John Hopkins University.

The scientists update the map with the latest updates on the COVID-19 outbreak.

The map shows that cases close to Malta are registered in Italy with 453 cases and one case in Greece.

The number of new coronavirus infections inside China, the source of the outbreak, was for the first time overtaken by new cases elsewhere on Wednesday, with Italy and Iran reporting the spreading of coronavirus.

‘Wearing a mask does not ensure protection’

According to Dr Charles Mallia Azzopardi when one has some symptoms and wears a mask this will help against the spreading of germs. However, there were no studies which proved it to be effective the wearing of masks to protect oneself outside of a hospital setting.
