Following Electrogas’ statement published on Friday evening, many took to social media to express their concerns as some important details were deemed to be either questionable or were left ignored.
Many allegations relate to shocking revelations made in Court and during the public inquiry on the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia.
One of Daphne’s sons, Paul Caruana Galizia kicked off a Twitter thread sarcastically alleging that Electrogas, through all the alleged corrupt and illegal activities, still did not register a profit.
Matthew Caruana Galizia was more direct, simply stating that the statement that Electrogas did not pay its shareholders is an absolute lie.
Daphne’s sister, Many Mallia remarked that a company investigating itself for corruption is as credible “as a rapist ‘investigating’ himself for rape”.
Similarly, Simon Busuttil rhetorically asked that since the Monument to Corruption says it is not corrupt, so all is fine then, isn’t it?
Rule of Law NGO Occupy Justice also conveyed its opinion by quoting Daphne herself – “Crooks are everywhere.”
