MEP Alfred Sant expressed his concern and doubts on how the public inquiry in the assasination of Daphne Caruana Galiizia is being led.

Dr Sant questioned the relevance of details on what happened in the Labour Party over the years, the role of business people in its leadership and different opinions on the behaviour of certain politicians to the final aim of the inquiry, that of establishing whether the government guaranteed the required protection to Caruana Galizia.

The former Labour Party leader said that certain aspects discussed have no bearing on the final objective of the inquiry and asked on how the inquiry is kept on the subject under investigation.

Dr Sant said that while the elements discussed can quench the media’s thirst for news, this was not the primary objective in this inquiry to establish the full truth which led to Daphne Caruana Galizia’s murder.
