Every day at 8:10am the children attending the ‘Breakfast Club’, their teachers, as well as other children and the parents waiting outside of the San Gwann Primary School, are being urged to start the day with a 20-minute walk led by the Head of the school.
In a press release, the school explained that the activity has been named ‘Daily Mile’. The daily walk starts from next to the kindergarten building, up along the San Gwann football ground.
Through this initiative the school is trying to create awareness on the importance of movement and physical exercise that will reach adults and children alike.
The press release also explained that the activity is rather popular and everyone as many are those who are willing to start the day with some communal exercise.
This is not the first initiative from the San Gwann Primary School this year. Previously, they have also organised a Sustainable Mobility campaign which aimed at illustrating how walking and cycling could help eliminate air pollution.
