Juventus got off to a winning start by beating Chievo 3-2 in yesterday’s afternoon match. Cristiano Ronaldo, who had scored his first goal for the Bianconeri in pre-season friendly against the Juventus B team, failed to open his Serie A account but created a number attacking opportunities.
Sami Khedira put Juventus ahead from close range in the 3rd minute before Mariusz Stepinski equalized for Chievo before the end of the first half. Giaccherini gave Chievo the lead by converting a penalty in the 56th minute but defender Mattia Bani scored an own goal that cut Chievo’s lead. Federico Bernardeschi scored the winning goal in the 93rd minute to seal a late victory for the Old Lady.
