Remanded in custody for injuring police officers

A man has been remanded in custody after injuring two police officers while causing a disturbance at a Marsa bar.

The 42-year-old man is accused of insulting and threatening two police officers, causing slight injuries to both of them, disobeying police orders, disturbing the public peace, driving a motorcycle without a license, insurance and road license and relapsing.

He pleaded not guilty and his defence counsel requested the court to release the man on bail.

The Court decreed that it was not convinced at this stage that the accused would not commit another offence while on bail, as he had already relapsed, and remanded him in custody.
