Radisson to temporarily close its doors

Radisson Blu Resort will temporarily close its doors as from 1 October, its management announced on Facebook on Tuesday.

The hotel and its outlets will be closed for refurbishment, the statement reads.

Tourism has been among the worst hit sectors due to the coronavirus pandemic which saw airports closed and flights grounded. It was only in July that Malta started receiving its first tourists after the travel ban was lifted.

The hotel remarked that the situation has not been easy.

“We will be using this time to enhance our facilities, improve our service offering, and continue working towards providing the safest possible environment for all our team members and visitors,” the statement reads, adding that it is planning on welcoming guests back over the festive season.

The hotel remains open to the organisation of events or small gatherings.
