A booklet aimed at creating more awareness of children’s rights and how children themselves should be aware of their basic rights of life has been published by the Ministry for the Family and Children’s Rights together with the Office of the Commissioner for Children.
Minister for the Family and Children’s Rights Michael Falzon said that the booklet, entitled 30 Sena ta’ Drittijiet Umani tat-Tfal (30 Years of Children’s Rights), will be distributed in all schools in Malta and Gozo, as well as in residences.
Falzon also spoke about the introduction of the Law on Protection of Children; a law which will intervene in situations where children have no control over. He explained that parts of this law will come into force at the end of the year.
Commissioner for Children Pauline Miceli, said that she is happy with the work that is being done in this field, while stressing the importance of promoting the rights and protection of children.
