“I am proud of being the only member of parliament together with Daphne Caruana Galizia, who was targeted by the corrupt in an attempt to shut our mouths,” said PN MP Jason Azzopardi in a Facebook post.
Azzopardi wrote his reaction as Matthew Caruana Galizia, the son of murdered journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, testified during the public inquiry into his mother’s assassination, where he mentioned e-mails from a certain Christian Kalin from Henley and Partners, which says how they had managed to take legal action against media in Malta.
Caruana Galizia also testified how other e-mails mention how Henley and Partners together with Joseph Muscat, Keith Schembri, Owen Bonnici and Jonathan Cardona, were planning to take action against Daphne and Jason Azzopardi.
According to the exchange of e-mails, read verbatim in court by Matthew Caruana Galizia, Henley and Partners were seeking legal action in the United Kingdom, in relation to the IIP Scheme.
Today in court, Matthew Caruana Galizia presented notes written by his mother after meetings with her sources. During one particular meeting, Matthew Caruana Galizia said he was present and recalls the details of the e-mails he saw together with his mother.
Caruana Galizia said that it took time to present these documents as they had to go through his mother’s archives.
