The Vatican released an updated program for the Holy Fathers’ Sept. 22-25, 2018, Apostolic Visit to Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia.
Saturday 22 September 2018
7.30 a.m. Departure for Vilnius on a 3 hour trip. Welcome ceremony at Vilnius airport and courtesy visit to the President followed by meeting with local authorities, members of civil society and the Diplomatic Corps.
In the afternoon visit to the Mater Misericordia Shrine and in the square in front of the cathedral meeting with youn people followet by a visit to the Cathedral for prayers.
Sunday 23 September
The day starts with a trip by car to Kaunas where the Holy Father will say mass and deliver a homily at Santakos Park, followed by the recitation of the Angelus.
After lunch with the local Bishops at the Curia, Pope Francis will talk to priestes, men and women religious, consacrated persons and seminarians in Kaunas Cathedral. His Holiness will then go to the Museum of Occupations and Freedom Fights in Vilnius for a moment of prayes.
Monday 24 September
Pope Francis will fly to Riga where he is given an official reception at the courtyard of the Presidential Palace followed by a brief meeting with the President of Lithuania and a scheduled meeting with the local authorities, civil society and the diplomatic corps.
The Holy Father will attend a short ceremony where he will lay flowets at the Monument to Freedom and proceed to Rigas Doms for Ecumenical Prayers. He will then go the St. James Cathedral.
After lunch with the local Bishops at the House of the Holy Family, Pope Frances will go with helicopter to the Shrine of the Mother of God in Aglona and there he will say Mass and deliver a homily in the area outside the shirine. At this time he will return to Vilnius to rest for the night.
Tuesday 25 September
The Pope leaves Vilnius early in the morning and fly to Tallinn where he is welcomed in the square outside the Presidential Palace. After a courtesy visit to the President he will address the local authorities, civil society and members of the diplomatic course as is customery.
Just before noon the Pontiff will attend an Ecumenical Meeting with young people in Saint Charles Lutheran Church. After lunch with the Papal Entourage in the Convent of the Brigidine Sisters in Pirita, the Pope will meet with those assisted by the Charitable Works of the Church in the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul.
The Papal Visit will end with the Holy Mass at Freedom Square. Pope Francis will be bid the final farewell at Tallin International airport before returning to Rome
