Professor Andrew Azzopardi has been re-elected as Dean of the Faculty for Social Wellbeing at the University of Malta for a second term (2020-2024).
During his first term he has taken the Faculty outside of the confines of the university campus at tal-Qroqq and provided another important voice making sure to point out injustice and unfairness. He has based his work on the principles of fairness, forgiveness, empathy, social justice, diversity, and inclusion.
During these last years, the Social Wellbeing Faculty has seen a surge in PhD candidates, courses, and students.
In his first term as a Dean, the Faculty has embarked on working with a number of entities on major research projects and studies and applying scholarship to social policy outcomes.
Prof. Azzopardi has specialised in disability studies, activism, and community development.
