Prime Minister Joseph Muscat is attending the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, together with 193 other world leaders who are taking part in this event.
The session will be following the theme ‘Galvanizing multilateral effort for poverty eradication, quality education, climate action and inclusion’. The discussion is expected to focus on how the world countries can work more closely together to address global issues and challenges such as development, peace and security.
Among the various commitments and bilateral meetings, the Prime Minister will be attending a summit on climate change requested by the Secretary General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres for governments, private operators and representatives of civil society.
The Prime Minister is accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Promotion Carmelo Abela and whip of the Government parliamentary group, Deputy Byron Camilleri.
