Other projects President Emeritus works on are projects which fall under the Malta Trust Foundation and Nazareth Foundation.
One of the projects she is working on focuses on children the Malta Foundation for the Well Being of Society. She said that children need to learn how to live and accept each other no matter their religion, their ethnicity or their nationality.
As President Emeritus Marie Louise Coleiro Preca said she continued her work for the well being of society.
She also mentioned how she knows of women who work as prostitutes in order to pay rent.
Coleiro Preca said that the prostitution reform is a complex one and issues of health and mental issues need to also be addressed.
Another topic being discussed is the prostitution reform; President Emeritus said that she is in favour of decriminalising prostitutes but action needs to be taken against those who use sex workers.
Asked about the minimum wage, Coleiro Preca said that the minimum wage does help eliminate people from poverty as the minimum wage in Malta is still considered as low.
Re economic growth, President Coleiro Preca said we still need to address the situation where families and the elderly do not afford to pay rent.
She said that the statistics referred to the number of femicides as homicides. Coleiro Preca explained that one must make the difference between a homicide and when a woman is killed just because she is a woman.
President Emeritus Coleiro Preca said that she is disappointed with the latest statistics issued today by the National Statistics Office.
The subject of femicide is being discussed right now. In such cases, one also finds the "machos" and "heroes".
The accident dates back to June 3rd 2004 and 16 years on the families of the victims are still waiting for justice.
Fr Joe Borg has mentioned the case of Mary Zarb and Nadya Vavilova who lost their lives in 2004 when a worker cut through the bearing concrete surface of a building which as a consequence had collapsed and the two were killed.
Marie Louise Coleiro Preca has also mentioned those families who have lost their homes due to construction works adjacent to their houses. Coleiro Preca said that these families too are demanding justice.
Reference is being made to the developers. According to President Emeritus have crossed certain limits and describes them as machos and heroes.
She has called on authorities who have failed to protect the people and their needs. Who have failed Miriam Pace and her family.
President Emeritus said that what happened on Monday should never happen in our country.
She said that she feels a sense of anger and that as a country we are now at a point where immediate action needs to be taken.
