Coleiro Preca said that the prostitution reform is a complex one and issues of health and mental issues need to also be addressed.
She also mentioned how she knows of women who work as prostitutes in order to pay rent.

Another topic being discussed is the prostitution reform; President Emeritus said that she is in favour of decriminalising prostitutes but action needs to be taken against those who use sex workers.
Re economic growth, President Coleiro Preca said we still need to address the situation where families and the elderly do not afford to pay rent.
Asked about the minimum wage, Coleiro Preca said that the minimum wage does help eliminate people from poverty as the minimum wage in Malta is still considered as low.

She said that the statistics referred to the number of femicides as homicides. Coleiro Preca explained that one must make the difference between a homicide and when a woman is killed just because she is a woman.
President Emeritus Coleiro Preca said that she is disappointed with the latest statistics issued today by the National Statistics Office.
