In court on Thursday morning, Magistrate Joe Mifsud remarked that the actions of some visitors to Malta are harming the reputations of others living an exemplary life.
The Magistrate uttered these words as he ordered two Bulgarians to serve a four-month imprisonment sentence for theft.
Genoveva Stoilova Neli Ilieva and Iliyana Ilieva were caught stealing from a clothes shop in Valletta on the 21st of June at around 2.30pm. They stole a wallet with cash, several documents and a credit card from tourist Sharon Bourne.
Even though one of the women charged is pregnant, the court made no exception to the case.
