Edison Research projected that President-elect Joe Biden will win the battleground state of Arizona.

With a few states still counting votes, the electoral math is daunting for Trump, and the Arizona vote dealt another blow to Trump’s struggling effort to overturn the results of the Nov. 3 presidential election.

Biden’s win in Arizona gives the Democrat 290 electoral votes in the state-by-state Electoral College that determines the winner, more than the 270 needed to claim victory. Biden is also winning the popular vote by more than 5.2 million votes, or 3.4 percentage points.

Meanwhile Pope Francis offered his “blessings and congratulations” to U.S. President-elect Joe Biden in a phone call on Thursday, seeking to rebuild rapport with Washington after four years of sometimes contentious relations with President Donald Trump.

The conversation was announced by the transition team for Biden, who will become only the second Roman Catholic president in U.S. history when he enters the White House on Jan. 20. Trump has yet to concede and is pursuing legal challenges.
