Poles and Colombians lobby divine intervention as magnificent England sail through

Tista' taqra bil- Malti.

Colombian and Polish fans attended Sunday morning mass in Kazan ahead of the crucial Group H game between the two national teams who both need a win to stay alive in the competition. Supporters from both teams attended mass at the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross which was consecrated in 2008 after being built with financial support of the Kazan government.

The church was built after Pope John Paul II returned the icon of Our Lady of Kazan to Russia which resulted in a thaw in relations between the Roman Catholic and Russian Orthodox churches. Attending mass was the Perez family, with wife Isabela from Poland and husband Fabio from Colombia, their two boys Matteo and Marsel support each team with the same passion and plan to exchange jerseys at half time. Married for 18 years and now living in Bogota, Isabela and Fabio say today is a special day for them but both hope their teams will win. Matteo and Marsel, both born in Poland are predicting a draw for both teams.

Poland supporters Igor, Mihail and Patricija all believe Poland will win the game with Patricija predicting goals from Robert Lewandowski or Grzegorz Krychowiak. Manuel from Bogota thinks it will be a tough match for both teams and says the outcome of the match will be up to God.

Meanwhile, England had a magnificent first half with two penalties for Kane who, together with Stone, scored four of the five goals. Lingard scored the fifth. At the opening of the second Half, Kan scored a hat-trick bringing England to a 6-1 score.
