The Nationalist Party is urging the government to allocate financial assistance to assist the self-employed and employees who are once again being affected by the recent spike in the coronavirus cases.
In a statement issued by Nationalist MP Edwin Vassallo, spokesperson for Agriculture and Fishery, the self-employed and cooperatives, it was mentioned how certain businesses, especially small businesses and self-employed are considering a lockdown.
The PN MP said that a number of businesses are considering the option of lockdown as the government is failing to protect their interests. Vassallo said that many businesses are faced with two options, they either close temporarily or they remain open and incur further expenses.
Edwin Vassallo has urged the government to stop being arrogant and immediately address the concerns of the business community.
