Partit Nazzjonalista has convened an urgent parliamentary group meeting on Tuesday afternoon to discuss the recent developments in the case of Daphne Caruana Galizia’s assassination.

The meeting which was convened by Partit Nazzjonalista leader Adrian Delia, will be held at 1pm.

On Monday, former Police Commissioner Lawrence Cutajar was fired from government consultant after details emerged in sworn testimonies in court during the criminal proceedings against murder suspect Yorgen Fenech who stands charged with being an accomplice in the murder.

Cutajar was placed under criminal investigation after the Court upheld a request by the parte civile lawyer Jason Azzopardi in view of the details which emerged throughout the nine-hour sitting. Cutajar will now be investigated about his potential involvement in the leaks from the case.

Cutajar told the Times of Malta that he had indeed met with Edgar Brincat known as il-Ġojja who is a friend of Melvin Theuma. Theuma turned into a state witness after he was granted presidential pardon in exchange of the truth.
