Watch: PN to boycott Parliament as long as Joseph Muscat remains

Tista' taqra bil- Malti.

The Nationalist Party will be boycotting Parliament for as long as Joseph Muscat remains put as Prime Minister, party leader Adrian Delia said today.

Dr Delia made his statement at the start of today’s parliament session and led his MPs to a walkout as soon as he was finished.

The statement was met with applause by MPs, and some threw fake €5,000 banknotes at the chamber, frequently used in the protests which have taken place in Valletta almost daily in recent days.

Yesterday evening, Dr Delia had already announced that his party would boycott all events where Dr Muscat was present, in reaction to the prime minister’s announcement that he would only step down in the beginning of next year, and not immediately as his party – and protesters – have been urging.

Nevertheless, PN MPs showed up to Parliament today, if only to stage a symbolic walkout as soon as it opened.
