The Partit Nazzjonalista(PN) MPs Group met on Tuesday evening. It has been described as “inconclusive”, “good” and “constructive”.

PN leader Adrian Delia descried the meeting as “good” and “constructive”.

Sources told Newsbook.com.mt that the majority of the MPs asked Adrian Delia to either resign or ask for General Council vote of confidence. Delia had told the media many times over that he will not resign and nobody has asked him to.

Adrian Delia also said that he accepted Pierre Portelli resignation from head of the party’s media. Newsbook.com.mt has also been informed that a ruckus was raised over what Portelli had written about Karol Aquilina on Facebook.

In his comments to the media, PN leader Adrian Delia stated that whoever attacks a party’s MP is attacking him (Delia) personally.

Newsbook.com.mt is also informed that during the same meeting deputy PN leader Robert Arrigo, party Whip David Agius, and deputies Stephen Spiteri, Kristy Debono, Frederick Azzopardi and Carm Mifsud Bonnici did not make any comment. MPs Mario Galea and Edwin Vassallo pitched in in favour of Adrian Delia.

Delia’s plan has been put on the table during the meeting to be considered by the group. His proposals include group meetings at least every fortnight, more youths to be included and for a larger group of people to be involved in strategic planning. Adrian Delia also told the media that what is discussed at the MPs group meetings is confidential within the group and that all the necessary changes will be made. He also added that the proposals, which he described as a sound basis for an action plan, are already being discussed within the party’s Executive Committee, and the reactions so far are good.
