PN MP Simon Busuttil’s new post

Partit Nazzjonalista MP Simon Busuttil was appointed Secretary General of the group EPP in the European Parliament. He will be resigning from his post as a PM in the Malta Parliament.

In a statement signed by the Secretary Clyde Puli, the Partit Nazzjonalista said that it gladly welcomes the news of Simon Busuttil’s new role as the new Secretary General for the European People’s Party (EEP) in the European Parliament, which will come into effect on the 1st of March.

Busuttil will be handing over his office “in the coming weeks”.

The PN Leader Adrian Delia expressed his sense of pride and joy on receiving the news of Simon Busuttil’s appointment in such a prestigious and responsible role at the heart of Europe.

The statement quotes Delia who was said that this new role is not only a reflection of the great trust earned by Simon Busuttil but is also a reflection of the great respect that the Partit Nazzjonalista has earned in the European Union.

Simon Busuttil’s initial reaction to his new appointment included a reassurance that he “will work tirelessly to see Malta regain the respect that it has lost in the recent years.” He added that he will “make sure that Europe will be on Malta’s side to defend the values of justice and the rule of law”.

The PN also said that Simon Busuttil’s appointment effectively means that Malta is being given another chance to reclaim its reputation which has been completely destroyed by Joseph Muscat through the corruption and the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia.
