Tista' taqra bil- Malti.
In a Facebook post, the rule of law NGO Occupy Justice posted a photo of messages found at Daphne Caruana Galizia’s memorial in Valletta, 119 weeks after the journalist was assassinated.
Referring to posters reading “Daphne was possessed by the Devil” and “Daphne needed an exorcist”, Occupy Justice condemned these messages adding that “This is what state sanctioned hatred of a journalist has brought us to”
The anti-corruption activists are claiming that such messages going against one’s right to demand justice for a murdered journalist show a problem in our education system.
The group is calling on Minister Owen Bonnici, now Education Minister, to take action so that justice can prevail. On Sunday Newsbook.com.mt published comments by Minister Bonnici saying that he was no longer is responsible for the Great Siege monument in Valletta which has been used by anti-corruption activists as a protest site demanding justice for slain journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.
Occupy Justice are asking Prime Minister Robert Abela if he is to condemn this act.
“Will you tell people that it is unacceptable? Or can we just expect more of the same?”
The activists also stressed the fact that Malta has become a country a journalist can be assassinated and certain sections of population cheer.
