Prime Minister Joseph Muscat visited Stewart Health Care’s hospital in Boston, United States, and the company’s Headquarters.
In a press release, the Prime Minister’s office said that Muscat met Stewart Healthcare’s top officials, who run Karen Grech, Saint Luke’s and the Gozo General Hospital.
Muscat visited the company’s headquarters, where he was given a presentation about the latest technology the company is adopting to keep medical records of their patients. These systems are reducing mortality rates significantly.
Muscat also met the medical team responsible for different sectors of St Elisabeth Medical Centre, a hospital run by Stewart. The Prime Minister’s Office said that the company is the largest operator in the private sector in the United States, which employs 40,000 professionals.
Last week, Stewart Health Care fired 468 employees in Ohio USA, when it closed down a hospital.
