Minister Owen Bonnici did not say whether the Government is going to name a street to honour slain journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia. In Parliament, Minister Bonnici did not say if the Government had received a recommendation to change Amery Street to a name which honours Daphne.

This is because the Office of the Prime Minister is responsible for the Electoral Commission, which takes care of street names.

The Minister, therefore, invited Nationalist MP Jason Azzopardi to refer his questions to the concerned Minister. despite all proposals for the name changes are forwarded to the Committee on Road Names within the Ministry of Justice and LocaCouncils. The street names are then made public on the Government Gazette.

Azzopardi said Daphne Caruana Galizia grew up and lived in Amery Street, Sliema.
