Arnold Cassola, independent candidate and ex-Chairperson of Alternattiva Demokratika, has called on Prime Minister Robert Abela to take immediate action after the details emerged on Wednesday morning, following the testimony in court of Melvin Theuma, the pardoned middleman in the assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.
In a press statement issued Wednesday afternoon, the ex-Chairperson of Alternattiva Demokratika said that following the testimony by Melvin Theuma, things are getting even more obvious now and that Prime Minister Robert Abela must take action.
“After today’s testimony, the police should have already called in Keith Schembri, Silvio Valletta, Kenneth Camilleri and Johann Cremona for interrogation and eventual detention. If the police haven’t already them called in by now, the Prime Minister must discipline the police chiefs” -said Cassola.
He also said that if Robert Abela fails to do so, then the new Prime Minister “would be just another accomplice covering up for those involved in this horrendous assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia”.
