According to the Meteorological Office, this Christmas is expected to be amongst the warmest on record, as temperatures are forecast to fall just a few degrees short of reaching the highest ever temperature recorded locally on Christmas Day; 23.6°C in 2009.

Christmas morning will be sunny as the clouds dotting our skies on Thursday are expected to break by tomorrow. Cooler temperatures during the weekend will be coupled with partly cloudy skies, with a slight possibility of rain showers forecast for the evening of 26 December and isolated showers forecast for Sunday.

On Friday, one can expect a moderate wind to blow from the west-southwest, while a rather strong to strong wind is forecast to blow from a southwest direction, becoming a northwesterly wind, on Boxing Day. Moderate west-northwesterly winds will continue to blow on Sunday, becoming rather strong northwesterly winds by the evening.
