Development plans for a drive-in cinema on a sizeable tract of land which is found in the out of development zone near St Thomas Bay in Marsascala have been submitted with the Planning Authority.
While there are very few details about the project, the plans submitted with the Planning Authority, show that involves a sizeable tract of agricultural land which leads to San Tommaso Tower known as Mamo Tower. A fortified residence which was built in 1657 by the Mamo family and which was subsequently acquired by Din l-Art Ħelwa. The tower was restored between 1994 and 1995. The tower is not included in the plans.
The application was submitted on behalf of lawyer Martin Testaferrata Moroni Viani by perit Brian Ebejer on 15 October. It was published over the past week.
The public can register any objections against the proposed development until 1 February.
